The tale of Apollo’s unrequited love for Daphne ended in poetic beauty. After his beloved was transformed into a laurel tree, Apollo vowed to eternally honour Daphne in the form of an ornate laurel wreath. The decadent crown would go on to be Apollo’s signature accessory in legendary pieces of artwork and literature.
